Grimsby Hyundai is seeking an experienced Body Shop Apprentice to join their exceptional team.

Here’s what you’ll deliver:

• Assist removing damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, grilles, and trim.

• Assist with realigning car frames and chassis to repair structural damage.

• Hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage

• Obtain parts prices and note availability for each recommendation.

• Perform all work as outlined on the front of the repair order and as authorized on the back, with efficiency and accuracy, and in accordance with company and factory standards.

• Order all parts when authorization is received, unless specifically told otherwise.

• Ensure that all work performed is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.

• Utilize the repair order punch clock appropriately (i.e. punch onto specific line when starting task, and punch off when task is complete).

• Relocate vehicles around the facility in order to complete the repair process.

• Learn and retain information on all current and emerging technologies as they apply to automobile servicing.

• Maintain a high degree of concentration to prevent “comebacks”.

• Ensure that customer cars are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.

• Assist with road-tests on vehicles after service any time a wheel is removed, or any time a repair that might affect drivability is performed.

• Keep abreast of all factory technical bulletins.

• Assist with completing all required paperwork.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times. This includes cleaning of the bay and bench at the end of each shift and dispose of garbage, recycling, etc. as required.

• Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

• Abide by all company policies and safe operating procedures.

• Other duties as required by management.

What you need to succeed:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Currently registered with Ontario College of Trades.

• Level 1 or higher Apprentice Body Shop Technician.

• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.

• Minimum 2 years work experience in an automotive dealership.

• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

• Works well in a fast paced environment.

• Must be team oriented, reliable and hardworking with a positive attitude.

• Mechanical aptitude and interest.

• Ability to effectively manage time.

• Demonstrate willingness to learn and succeed.

• Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.

• Ability to lift and move heavy items (50-75 lbs)

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected hourly wage): $23.00 - $27.00 per hour. The starting rate will be set within this range based on job-related factors such as relevant skills and experience.
